Undergrad Rating: 6/10 times you'll think Anna Kendrick is actually crazy
Reviews: IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes
Where to find: Netflix, Amazon Prime
Without having seen the poster to this movie. I didn't expect the weird blend of casual action, and random comedy that is everything that this rom-com is based off of. In this instance, you can get the idea of this movie strictly by looking at the poster
Sam Rockwell's character is supposed to be a somewhat psycho hitman that is carefree and fun. And Anna Kendrick is kind of the same but comes across more immature than anything. Sam Rockwell I don't think delivers in terms of selling the carefree and fun person that he's supposed to play. However, I think Anna Kendrick does very well to convince you that she actually crazy. I mean I could believe it, especially towards the end of the movie.
The writing for this movie, is sometimes astoundingly crazy, but not in a bad way. Overall, I like this movie. It doesn't have a deeper message in its plot, and the acting can sometimes be a little stiff from the actors in the antagonist group. But you can turn off your brain and enjoy this movie on your night off. And I think that movies like this have their own part to play in the movie industry. They can be grasped easily by everyone, and they're fun to just watch.
